Lingen
Energy Efficiency Upgrade with Thermal Hydrolysis and Phosphorus Precipitation
Scope
- Mechanical primary sludge thickening
- Thermal sludge disintegration (LYSOTHERM®)
- Phosphate precipitation and recovery from digested sludge (EloPhos®) with later change of operation to vacuum degassing with simultaneous phosphate precipitation in April 2019 (ELOVAC®-P)
- Centrifuge for the dewatering of digested sludge
- New CHPs with higher electrical efficiency
Technical Data
- Design capacity WWTP 195,000 PE, Actual load ca. 100.000 PE
- 1 module LYSOTHERM® with max. 15 tDS/d capacity
- ELOVAC®-P with max. 10 m³/h capacity
System & Technologies
- LYSOTHERM®
- ELOVAC®-P
- EloPhos®
Special Features
- Funded project by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety under “energy efficient wastewater treatment plants”. In 2018 at the project’s conclusion, the electrical power self-supply increased from 61% to 83% and total carbon footprint of the sludge treatment was reduced by a total of 400 tons/year, or by 17% prior to the implementation. Currently, the increased gas production leads to an increased production of electrical and thermal energy. Excess heat is utilized in the local heat network.
