Decentralised sludge drying

Onsite drying offers a decentralised and environmentally friendly solution to reduce disposal costs significantly. Drying combined with carbonisation offers an outlet for the biosolids cake as a high-quality EU certified fertiliser.

Reduce disposal cost

70 - 85 % of dewatered sewage sludge is water. Drying the sludge evaporates the water reducing the total mass by up to 85 %.

Stabilisation and hygienisation

Drying stabilises the sludge and kills the pathogens, thus reducing odours. The dried sludge meets the requirements for Class A.

Beneficial reuse

Drying increases the calorific value for carbonisation or incineration. Moreover, the carbonised sludge becomes a plant available phosphorus fertiliser.

Pyreg® is a phosphorus recovery technology from sewage sludge. The sludge is pyrolysed eliminating contaminants and micro-pollutants and the residual product is a carbonate-ash, high quality, plant available fertilizer.
